Announcement of the cooperation between MONDAINE and the non-profit organization Fairventures
It is our home and at the same time our most important possession: Mother Earth. To honor them and strengthen the environment, this year April 22nd marks the 50th anniversary of World Earth Day. As part of the holistic MONDAINE "WE CARE" strategy and on the occasion of World Earth Day, the innovative Swiss watch brand is now officially announcing its collaboration with the non-profit organization Fairventures. To support the relevant NGO, which focuses on the reforestation of the rainforest in Indonesia, MONDAINE is developing its own WE CARE watch collection. The sustainably produced watch models will be available from mid-2020.
In 2020, World Earth Day celebrates its 50th anniversary. In view of increasing and obvious ecological problems, climate protection is more important than ever. Because the consequences for people and nature are serious. MONDAINE has always been aware of the importance of sustainability and has been actively involved with a lot of passion for almost 50 years. The Pfäffikon-based company works particularly sustainably, also in the production of its watches, which are almost entirely made with pure solar energy from its own photovoltaic solar system in Biberist SO.
The watches of the WE CARE series consist of a white or black ecological case from the MONDAINE Bahnhofsuhr/SBB essence collection, each of which will be available with striped straps in the colors of nature. The essence watches launched in 2016 are made from over 70% sustainable materials. The case consists of 41% castor bean tree raw materials and 30% glass powder for reinforcement. The bracelets are made from recycled PET bottles. The packaging is also made from recycled PET bottles and can be reused as a cell phone pouch or glasses case.
Sustainable cooperation with Fairventures
On the occasion of this year's World Earth Day, MONDAINE has launched a collaboration with the non-profit organization Fairventures. Among other things, the NGO is committed to reforestation in Indonesia. Reforesting degraded forest areas not only counteracts climate change, it also offers new livelihood opportunities for local communities. Fairventures is convinced that active environmental protection can only work if the local population also benefits from it. With the WE CARE MONDAINE/SBB watch collection, MONDAINE is supporting Indonesia's national program in a very specific way: the financial support will make it possible to replant the area that has currently been cleared. The progress of the specific MONDAINE project can be viewed at any time on the Fairventures website: the area is marked «MONDAINE». From the sale of each of these watches, a whopping EUR 19 goes to Fairventures. These watches are marked with a button depicting the globe and the words WE CARE.
