Since it was founded in 1951, Mondaine has been characterized by great innovative strength. In addition to numerous new technical developments, such as one of the world's first digital watches at the beginning of the 1970s, the Swiss family company is now one of the industry leaders in the field of ecology. From September 2019, all watches will be manufactured largely with solar energy in the state-of-the-art watch factory in Biberist (SO).
2019 - Conversion of production to solar energy
Mondaine is consistently pursuing the topic and in September 2019 put its own photovoltaic solar system into operation on the roof of the Mondaine factory, with which around 80% of its own electricity requirements can be covered. In the summer months, the facility with its 802 m 2 solar cells can even supply electricity to the power station. The new solar system is an important milestone for Mondaine and enables the company to feed its production largely with solar energy.
